NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the town board of Lura Township, Faribault County, Minnesota will conduct a public hearing on the 3rd day of October, 2019 at 6:00 p.m. at the southwest comer of the Southeast Quarter of the Southwest Quarter of Section 6 in Township One Hundred Four (104) North, Range Twenty-six (26) West of the Fifth Principal Meridian in the County of Faribault and State of Minnesota to examine the road for the purposes of considering and acting upon its powers established in Minn. Stat. 164.06, subd. 1 allowing a town board to initiate the town road establishment, vacation, or alteration procedure in Minn. Stat. 164.07 without having to obtain the petition described in Minn. Stat. 164.07, subd. 1 does hereby move to vacate the following described road:

School Board MINUTES

August 12, 2019

The regular meeting of the Board of Education of the Blue Earth Area, I.S.D. #2860 was held on Monday, August 12, 2019, in Blue Earth, MN.

Present were School Board members: S. Hauskins, F. Bly, S. Beyer, S. Rosenau, K. Zierke, J. Eckles and S. Benz. Also Attending were Supt. Fletcher, principals, members of the press, staff and public.

The meeting was called to order at 7:02 p.m. by Chairman Benz. The Pledge of Allegiance was recited.

On a Beyer/Zierke motion, that agenda was approved. 7-0 vote.

On a Hauskins/Beyer motion, the July 15th minutes were approved. 7-0 vote.

The Board approved the payment of bills and wire transfers totaling $525,310.36 on a Rosenau/Bly motion. 7-0 vote.

District Reports:

Dan Brod reported on transportation updates: Eliminated a bus route, 20 buses in good condition, trying to eliminate van usage

Staff group presentation: Intro to Aces and Trauma one trusting adult to connect with a student can help

Superintendent's Report:

New teacher workshop 5 new teachers; workshop for all teachers; district wide welcome back for all staff and retirees; Love them first relationships; Sports participation with Genesis; Superintendent's Goals strategic plan, emotional health, culture of cooperation, bond/levy

On a Bly/Eckles motion, the board approved the Fall Coaching List. 7-0 vote.

On a Bly/Beyer motion, the board approved the Resolution Appointing Election Judges for the November 5, 2019 School District Special Election. Those voting in favor of: F. Bly, S. Beyer, S. Hauskins, S. Rosenau. S. Benz, J. Eckles, K. Zierke. Those voting against: none.

On a Beyer/Hauskins motion, the board approved the South Central Service Coop membership of $1955 for the 2019-20 school year. 7-0 vote.

On a Bly/Zierke motion, the board approved the personnel items: Hiring of Jeremy Frank, Custodian; James Wirkus, Maintenance Specialist; Al Cue, Long-term Math Substitute. Approved the resignation of Cris Schug, paraprofessional. 7-0 vote.

On an Eckles/Beyer motion, the board approved the final Policy 534. 7-0 vote.

On a Hauskins/Zierke motion, the meeting was adjourned at 8:35p.m. 7-0 vote.
